Vandana Shiva is a distinguished policy expert, author, global leader and justice activist. She has been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Seven Most Powerful Women in the Globe and received the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize."
In addition, she has authored numerous books, policy papers, and articles. Dr. Shiva has made significant contributions to the areas of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and biodiversity while making visible the social, economic, and ecological costs of neoliberal globalization. She is a famed activist raising awareness about the perils of genetically modified foods and increasingly monopolized food systems.
