The work of the RMPJC is carried out through education and action groups known as “collectives.”
Each collective has a specific issue focus, and the work of all the collectives is interwoven and interconnected.

Nuclear nexus and

nuclear guardianship

The Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center has a long history of leadership with regard to issues around the Rocky Flats Plant and the U.S. nuclear weapon complex. Currently, the Rocky Flats Nuclear Guardianship project is leading campaigns to Keep Kids Off Rocky Flats, to prevent the Jefferson Parkway, to reduce the U.S. nuclear weapon budget, and to halt further nuclear bomb production at SRS in South Carolina and LANL in New Mexico. The overall purpose of this project is to create a culture of Nuclear Guardianship both locally and nationally.

Global Peace Collective

The Global Peace Collective works against U.S. imperialism and wars for hegemony around the world.  We are active for justice, human rights and self-determination for all people.  We oppose the expansion of NATO and the consequent dangers of nuclear war. We advocate for discussion around alternative viewpoints of war and issues that affect the globe and vulnerable populations. Many members of the collective like to engage in discourse over global issues, and are active in reading and creating alternative blogs. Check out one some of us engage in below! It was created by Robert Prince, retired professor and former political commentator on KGNU's Hemispheres.

Meeting Time:

When: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the Month

Economic Justice Collective

The Economic Justice Collective works to increase public awareness about key concepts of economic structure.  We then take action to make a more just and equitable system. Over recent years, we have focused on free trade deals such as NAFTA and TPP and promoted the need for principles of Fair Trade.  Recently we have focused on economic recovery from the COVID-19 recession as well as housing and labor issues.
