Gary Ball, a well-loved movement musician and activist in the RMPJC community who passed away in 2011. Let’s gather to celebrate his life and work.

We can’t wait for this night! Please join us one evening with two amazing shows at the Nomad Theatre. If you can only make it for one show on April 17, you’ve got a tough choice! In the early show (6-8 PM), widely-loved multi-instrumentalist, lyricist and activist John McCutcheon will play after Alice DiMicele, a folk singer/songwriter known for raising her voice for the earth and social movements. The first show will also include a short performance by local folk favorites Elena Klaver, Linda Gore, Duffy Keith and Dave Merritt, and words from veteran activist Gary Cox. (You can buy tickets for this show here.) Stick around for the intermission party from 8-9 PM! We’ll be selling delicious Breckenridge Brewing microbrews and exciting silent auction items.

The second show features Vince Herman and Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon! Leftover Salmon pioneered a new genre by adding drums to bluegrass after forming in Boulder in 1989. Today, they’re still performing their “jam grass” hits in sold-out venues across the country. On April 17, for the first time ever, Andy and Vince will join Alice DiMicele onstage. (They’ll probably be joined by some special surprise guests, too!) You can buy tickets for this show here.

John McCutcheon is known as much for his activism and storytelling as his powerful folk music. He’ll help us commemorate the 100-year anniversary of Ludlow. Download the poster for his 6PM show.

You can also buy the two-show ticket and enjoy the whole magical evening!

The Gary Ball Memorial Concert series is in honor of Gary Ball, who was a central and well-loved figure in the peace, justice and environmental movements in Colorado and northern California for many years before he passed away in May, 2011. Along with being a movement musician, Gary was a dedicated lifelong activist for the rights of all people and for the planet and all its creatures.

These concerts are an opportunity to rally a diverse community to fight the TPP and corporate money in politics. Drinks will be sold during the shows and the intermission party, which will also include a silent auction. The silent auction includes exciting items like Red Rocks tickets and portraits by Blue Crane Photography. Proceeds will benefit RMPJC. Tickets cost $25 per show, or $40 for both. Tickets can be bought in advance by calling us at 303.444.6981 or clicking the links above.

Hope you can make it!

Alice DiMicele will join Vince Herman and Andy Thorn on stage at the Nomad on April 17. You don’t want to miss this!
